Deputy Director General, Federal Ministry for Climate Action in Austria

Thomas Jakl is Deputy Director General at Austrian Ministry for Climate and Environmental Protection. As Chair of the Horizon Europe PARC Governing Board, he has been leading EU chemicals negotiations and served on the ECHA board. A published expert in science and environmental policy, he is also a recipient of the EU “Genius” Award for Chemical Leasing. He holds a PhD in plant physiology and an MSc in Earth Sciences.
