Dahai Yu
Dahai Yu was born in Shanghai and studied chemistry at Hamburg University, where he received a PhD in Chemistry in 1989. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at CNRS in Paris, supported by a scholarship from the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation.
Dahai Yu joined Degussa in 1990, where he held various management positions until 2006, when he became the regional president of Greater China at Evonik Industries. In 2011, he was appointed to the Executive Board of Evonik Industries, overseeing the performance materials segment and the APAC region, before leaving the company at the end of 2013.
Dahai Yu is the founder and managing director of Dr. Yu Beratung and Beteiligung GmbH and serves as the Operating Partner of Advent International. He holds several board positions, including Chairman of Röhm GmbH and Chairman of Caldic, as well as board member roles at Allnex and GETEC. He also serves as a corporate advisor to Temasek International and is involved in venture capital investment.
