Alexander Traut

Alexander Traut is Vice President of Global Strategic Marketing at BASF Intermediates, based in Ludwigshafen, Germany - a position he has held since 2021. Prior to this, he served as General Manager of BASF-YPC Company Limited in Nanjing, China, from 2017 to 2021 and as Director of Petrochemicals South America in São Paulo, Brazil, from 2014 to 2017. His focus on global strategy occurred also from 2010 to 2013 in Ludwigshafen, where he worked on petrochemicals. Earlier in his career, from 2005 to 2010, he contributed to Central R&D in Performance Chemicals.

He earned a Master degree and PhD in Chemistry from Cologne, Germany, between 1997 and 2005, as well as am MBA from Hagen, Germany.
